The founder of Ars Akademy, a school of arts, Ing. Juraj V., hereby calls elections of members to the school board in accordance with Section 20(1) of Act No. 321/2025 Coll. on School Administration and on amendments to certain acts.
The elections to the school board are organised by the head of the school on the basis of the founder's written authorisation, in accordance with Section 20(1) of Act No. 321/2025 Coll. on School Administration and on amendments to certain acts.
In accordance with Section 18(4) of Act No. 321/2025 Coll. on School Administration and on amendments to certain acts, the founder sets the composition of the School Board of ZUŠ ARS AKADEMY at 11 members, as follows:
a) 3 elected representatives of the school's staff,
b) 4 elected representatives of parents and legal guardians,
c) 4 representatives appointed by the founder.
The election to the school board for representatives of the pupils' parents and legal guardians will take place on:
10 June 2026 at 16:30 in the multi-purpose hall of Ars Akademy in Veľké Uherce. If more than half of the eligible voters are not present, a repeat election will be held at 17:30 in the same place among the parents and guardians who attend. If parents are not present in person, the repeat election will take place on 29 June 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 in the multi-purpose hall in Veľké Uherce, immediately after the election for the staff category.
The election to the school board for representatives of the school's staff will take place on:
29 June 2026 from 8:00 to 10:00 in the multi-purpose hall in Veľké Uherce.
The list of candidates for each category of voters is compiled by Barbora V. (email: skola@arsakademy.sk) on behalf of the head of the school. Only a person who has given written consent to being listed, and who has been nominated by at least one voter from the relevant category, may be included on the list of candidates.
Elections to the school board are held by secret ballot. The ballot paper lists all candidates for the relevant category of voters. A ballot paper is valid if the voter marks no more candidates for the relevant category than the number set out above.
Both parents or legal guardians of a pupil share one vote, whether or not they are married; if more than one of their children attends the school, they share one vote for each child. This also applies where a court has placed the child in the care of only one parent or guardian, or in shared care.
An election may be held for a category of voters only if more than half of that category are present at the place of the election. Otherwise, the founder will call a repeat election for that category; at a repeat election, the requirement for more than half of the category to be present does not apply.
The representatives of each category of voters who receive the highest number of votes, up to the number of board members set by the founder, are elected to the school board. Where votes are tied, the order is decided by a public draw or by the procedure laid down in the school board's statutes.
The inaugural meeting of the new school board will be convened by 31 August 2026 at the latest. At this meeting the board will also approve its statutes and the terms on which it operates.
The head of the school has been appointed to organise the elections to the school board.
