Art your child doesn't have to travel for
Ars Akademy is a private primary art school based in Veľké Uherce, Slovakia. We teach children and young people from the age of four in four departments: dance, visual arts, music and drama. The school is listed in the official Slovak school network, so this is proper arts education rather than an after-school club. Once pupils complete the first part of the first stage, they hold a primary arts qualification.
Most of our lessons don't happen in one big building in town. We teach right inside nursery and primary schools and village cultural centres across the Partizánske, Bánovce nad Bebravou and Prievidza districts. Children can often walk to their dance, art or piano lesson in the same building where they have school, and you don't have to drive them into town every week.
Every child has a talent. Let them grow it with young, ambitious teachers who understand that energy.

Since 2006, bringing art closer to children
“From the very start we wanted to bring art as close to you as possible, which is why the school now has several branches across the Trenčín Region. Our motto is that nothing is impossible.”

Talent needs time, a good teacher and a reason to keep going
First we find out what your child enjoys
Five-year-olds in nursery schools take part in Rytmíkovo, our music readiness programme. It lets the teacher see where a child's strengths lie, and afterwards we recommend the department that suits them best.
Young, qualified teachers
We have 37 teachers and every one of them holds the required qualification. It's a young team that understands art and knows how to share it so children enjoy it.
Competitions where nobody leaves empty-handed
We run our own school competitions: ARS AKADEMY DANCE CUP, VÝTVARNÍCI V NAŠEJ ZUŠ-KE (art), DOLCE PIANO and LITTLE VOICE. Children measure themselves against friends from other branches, and every one of them receives a certificate and a small prize.
Art every family can afford
The parents' contribution covers roughly 8 to 9% of what it costs to teach a pupil. We keep it low on purpose, so arts education stays within reach of every family in the region.
You apply online through the iZUŠ system, which is also where you'll find your child's electronic record book. Online application to the art school (opens in a new window)
How far our pupils have gone
Competitions aren't the main thing children do here. They do show how far steady work can take you, even from a small village.

It's our motto, the name of our school curriculum and also the name of the civic association that works alongside the school. The association manages the department funds that pay for art and music materials and for dancers' costumes and supplies.
If you pay tax in Slovakia, you can support the school by assigning 2% of your income tax to the association. Companies can help through a charitable advertising agreement.

Who helps us teach close to home
Without the towns, villages and schools that open their classrooms to us, we couldn't teach this close to you. Local companies help us travel to competitions.
