Dance

For children from age 4

Rhythm your child feels with their whole body

Dance is rhythm, energy and music turned into movement. Here your child will learn good posture and build fitness and movement memory. They'll also find out what it feels like to stand on stage in front of a full hall.

What dance gives your child

Lessons work the whole body. Children build strength, stretch, learn to listen to music and move through space together with others. The result is good posture, better fitness and the kind of movement memory that lets a child remember even a long routine.

The group matters just as much. Dancers from different branches meet at shows, competitions and dance parties, Halloween included, and make new friends along the way.

From first steps to the stage

We start with play. The youngest children take a music and movement class where they learn to hear the rhythm and control their bodies. Dance techniques follow later:

  • modern dance
  • jazz dance
  • folk dance
  • classical dance
  • gymnastics as an optional subject

Our young teachers specialise mainly in modern and stage dance, meaning dance made for the stage and an audience.

Competitions worth training for

Our dancers perform regularly at events in the region and represent the school at national and international competitions.

How to join our dancers

  1. Fill in the online application

Applications go through the iZUŠ system. The printout has three pages: the application, a declaration and consent to the processing of personal data. Ideally, bring it to enrolment already signed.

  2. Entrance assessment

A short session with a teacher at the branch. It's not a test of finished skills; we're looking at potential.

At the assessment we look at:

    • basic spatial awareness
    • rhythm
    • natural movement and flexibility

Your child will need dance shoes and dancewear. Show costumes are paid for from the costume and materials fund.

  3. Decision

The school management decides on admission. We send you the result by email along with the formal admission decision.

Entrance assessments for the 2026/2027 school year took place at the branches in June 2026. If you'd like your child to start now, write to us or give us a call and we'll tell you where there's still a free place.
