On 31 March 2024, dancers from Ars Akademy, a private school of arts, took part in one of the world qualifying rounds of the Dancestar competition in Brno. Qualifiers for the competition have been held since November 2023 in countries including North Africa, Malta, Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania. Dancers from our Partizánske and Dolné Vestenice branches qualified with 4 routines for the world championships, World Dance Masters Dancestar, held from 22 to 26 May 2024 in the picturesque Adriatic resort of Poreč in Croatia. World Dance Masters is a spectacular event with more than 7,000 dancers from all over the world. Alongside the competition, the week offered the dancers countless workshops with leading international teachers, further dance contests, a freestyle battle, a gala night and plenty of other activities. In total, 54 countries took part, and against strong competition our dancers achieved 16th place with the solo World of feelings (Adrián U., Partizánske), 15th place with Leví kráľ (Year 6, Dolné Vestenice), 6th place with Don't stop the music (trio Nela K., Natália Š., Nikola M.), and the biggest emotions of all came with the announcement of 3rd place for Aladdin (Year 8 Partizánske and Year 6 Dolné Vestenice). After five demanding days the dancers headed home overjoyed with their success and with memories they will never forget.
Ars Akademy would like to thank all the dancers for representing the school, the town of Partizánske, the village of Dolné Vestenice and our country, and all the parents who supported and helped them throughout the world championships.
